As much as I hate the idea of government monitoring one’s online activities, and barring certain sites, I also feel its an inevitable step to stop internet related crimes like ID theft, movies and music piracy etc.

Other than that, I feels everyone is entitled to watch, read, and listen what they want to; and it’ll be quite unaustralian to stop someone from doing that.

I still can’t understand, how could that have possibly happened…maybe I am not that technically literate. But I definitely understand how important is to secure one’s wireless network. Apart from the obivious privacy concerns, imagine receiving a thousand dollars bills, for the internet used by dodgy neighbours!!

How dumb person can be to turn down a job, just because they cant facebook at work!
Whats with employees always fighting about their rights and privileges, not understanding, that data security and confidentiality, is employer’s entitlement. If you can’t respect their code of ethics, how can you expect the same from them?

Lets not forget the outrageous line rentals you have to pay just to maintain ADSL2+. You can get cable connection without a line rental, though most companies package the two in a way, that its hard to say no (Optus fuison plans – how good they sound with their unlimited calls etc).
Naked DSL is a good alternative to Cable connection. It has all the qualities of an ADSL2+ connection, without the hassle of keeping a home phone. However, their installation can be quite tricky, and expensive. But you do save money in the long run, considering some of the plans in the market are cheaper the cable internet plans; example, Telstra’s 12 GB cable broadband plan worth $59.95 vs TPG’s 130 GB Naked DSL plan worth the same price. Now who’s the winner here!

Oh please gimme a break! I am NOT going to stop using my mobile phone, just because a random doc has all of a sudden realise how dangerous they are. If that is the case, then please lets just stop using technology completely, and go back to the basics. How regressive is that!

Ipad!!! really!!! I think we had drawn the line at Iphone; the smart phone that can literally do everything related with one’e telecommunication needs. I understand, Ipad is not a phone, neither a laptop, its more of a netbook with some additional features, like one can use it to read a virtual book. But even an Iphone can do that, the only problem being the smaller font size. However, do we really need to mechanize even the most humble pleasures of life? How about these big companies spend some of their ‘precious R&D’ resources, to combat bigger issues, like Global warming etc. Believe me, we can read our books, the traditional way!
