"There are various purposes for which a mobile phone can be used today, it might be Messaging, Calling, Listening to music or Internet browsing"

As old as it makes me seem, I remember when a mobile phone used to be used to make and receive calls, nothing else. I even remember when it was a rarity for someone to have a mobile phone, and the people that did were either businesspeople or those with more money than sense. I remember when a mobile phone meant that you had to cart a massive great big pack around with you, like that one that Murtaugh uses in the first Lethal Weapon. I remember when internet on a mobile phone used to consist of a couple of pages, plus an arm and a leg for the privilege of viewing them.

How times change. These days, you’re viewed as a bit of an oddity, or someone who's in denial about technology if you don't have a mobile phone. People actually expect to be able to access the internet on their mobiles, it’s taken for granted. They used to be expensive bits of kit, for the few who could afford them, now you wouldn't think twice about sending an international SMS, about googling something, about getting directions.

It does make me wonder what the face of communication will be like in the future. Because it really wasn’t that long ago that a mobile phone was a rarity.

What can I say? Hats off to the marketing team behind Masterchef. Considering almost one tenth of the nation watches this show every evening, it just happens to be the best marketing success story every.
BTW, Go Johno!!!
